The #1 mistake we see with Dr. Fixit Raincoat is inadequate surface preparation. The concrete substrate MUST be saturated with clean water for at least 4-6 hours before application (surface damp-dry, no standing water). If the concrete is dry, it will suck the water out of the Raincoat mix instantly, preventing proper cement hydration and polymer film formation. This single error causes 80% of waterproofing failures. After application, curing is NON-NEGOTIABLE — keep the surface continuously moist for 7 days by sprinkling water 2-3 times daily or covering with wet gunny bags.
