Weathercoat Long Life contains a special elastomeric acrylic resin that allows the paint film to stretch up to 200% of its original length. This is critical in Kolkata where temperature swings between 12 degrees Celsius in winter and 42 degrees Celsius in summer cause significant thermal expansion of the substrate. To leverage this property, always apply the recommended 2-coat system at the specified wet film thickness. Thinning beyond 10% water by volume will reduce the dry film thickness and compromise the elastomeric stretch capability, leading to premature cracking.
